27 years after launching their first electric epilator that was a world pioneer in its field, The Israeli Company Epilady presents the next generation: A home laser removal device in an innovative and fresh design. Before approaching the design we conducted an extensive research on similar products in the markets. To oursurprise, in an area designed for aesthetics we found many of the products to be clumsy and uninspiring. The few products that were relevant were also quite expensive.

The device we designed is comfortable to hold and highly effective – a result of ergonomic research and trial models. During the research process we explored various forms and styles. Our objective was to create a form that was elegant and beautiful- but not at the expense of its comfort of use. Such a combination is usually seen innatural life forms, which is where our design team eventually drew their inspiration from.

Although it’s a small and compact device, the inspiration for the design was actually drawn from the blue whale, which is the largest mammal in the wild; and one of the most amazing, certainly in regards to its shape. We were fascinated by the idea of a shape that was smooth and elegant yet full of movement and power, held in the palm of your hand.

During the initial use data such as skin tone, hair color and thickness are fed into the device. It covers an area of 5 cm² at a time, removing the hair from the root without causing any damage to the skin tissue. It is also equipped with a security sensor to prevent damage when it isn’t directed at the skin.
